The internship covers the following major areas:

1. Clinical Foundations

Advanced clinical interview, MSE, case formulation, risk assessment, ethics, confidentiality and documentation.

2. Psychopathology

Common psychological disorders based on DSM-5 & ICD-10, including anxiety, mood, psychotic, personality, trauma-related, dissociative, eating, sexual, child & adolescent and neurodevelopmental disorders.

3. Psychological Assessment

Introduction to clinical interviews and commonly used tools such as BDI, HAM-A, HAM-D, Y-BOCS, PHQ-9 and GAD-7, along with suicide-risk assessment and introductory personality and intelligence assessment.

4. Psychopharmacology

Basic understanding of psychiatric medications, their major classes, common indications, therapeutic effects, side effects and the role of medication in mental health treatment, along with the importance of collaboration between psychologists, psychiatrists and other mental health professionals.

5. Evidence-Based Therapies

Introduction to CBT, DBT, Behaviour Therapy, REBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Strategies and Crisis Intervention.

6. Case Management

Case conceptualisation, treatment planning, goal setting, progress notes, clinical documentation, follow-up and referral planning.

7. Special Populations

Basic counselling approaches for children, adolescents, families, couples, older adults, addiction-related concerns and grief & loss.

8. Practical Clinical Training

Live case observation, supervised counselling sessions, mock therapy sessions, case presentations, case conferences, clinical feedback and role-play practice.

9. Professional Development

Ethics and legal considerations, documentation standards, professional communication, resume building, interview preparation, networking and career guidance.
